Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan roaring blockbuster film Simmba ended 2018 with the loudest bang at the ticket windows. The supremely successful masala entertainer marked Ranveer’s first collaboration with director Rohit Shetty for a feature film after an ad. Mouthing whistle worthy dialogues and packing a powerful punch, Ranveer as Inspector Sangram Bhalerao is a reference to Shetty’s successful franchise Singham starring Ajay Devgn.

If you still haven’t watched the trailer of Simmba, check it out right away:

The trailer video begins with Ajay aka Bajirao Singham’s voiceover. The clip then moves on to show how Simmba is a dynamic but corrupted cop gone good. Refreshingly enthralling as Simmba seems, Shetty and cop capers can safely be spelt in the same breath. Something the filmmaker enjoys a reputation for! But for those who need more convincing, we have rounded up reasons why you should watch Simmba

After back-to-back periodic hits, Ranveer shed the skin of his historical characters for a light-hearted rom-com. He plays Inspector Sangram Bhalerao who has grown up in the same surrounding as Singham, but of course, what’s a Rohit Shetty film without some drama?

2. Sara Ali Khan version 2.0

Kedarnath featured Sara as the stubborn Brahmin girl Mukku, who is madly in love with a Muslim pitthoo Mansoor. Simmba stars her as a typical Rohit Shetty heroine – bold and beautiful. For those who couldn’t get enough of Sara in the Abhishek Kapoor film, watch her in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, she’s an absolute treat!

3. It's a Rohit Shetty masala entertainer

Packed with tonnes of drama and adrenaline pumping high-octane action scenes, Simmba is an out and out Rohit Shetty movie. Of course, there will be flying cars, villains being found in the air and peppy foot-tapping dance numbers.

4. Sonu Sood as the baddie

Throwing it back to the days of Chhedi Singh, Sonu Sood plays the villain in Simmba. The on-fleek mustache and toned to triumph muscles easily elbow aside every other baddie.

5. Cameos

Besides Ajay Devgn as Singham, Simmba also stars Akshay Kumar in a cameo scene. He appears as Inspector Sooryavanshi. We also have Golmaal stars Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade groove a leg with Ranveer and Sara in Aankh Maarey song. You can’t help but notice breadcrumbs being laid for Golmaal 5 and other Shetty’s films.
