Article 370 has been abolished by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s government, announced Home Minister Amit Shah, of the NDA government. Article 370 was revoked through Constitution (Application to Jammu and Kashmir) Order 2019, consented and duly signed by President Ram Nath Kovind. The new move says that not only will the state of #JammuAndKashmir no longer enjoy a ‘special status’ but also that the laws under the Indian Constitution shall apply to J&K hereafter. In the Rajya Sabha today, the ruling government also proposed a plan to reorganize Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory with Legislature. The announcement also stated that Ladakh will be separated from J&K and made into a Legislature-less Union Territory. Needless to mention, the development has met with all kinds of reaction on social media and otherwise. A section of celebrities too hailed PM Modi’s ‘bold move’ whereas another sided with Jammu and Kashmir ex-Chief Ministers Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti in opposing the decision.

PM Modi had said that #Article370 and Article 35A have done maximum damage to Jammu and Kashmir and only former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's formula of "Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat and Jamhooriyat" will work in Jammu and Kashmir.#Article370revoked
