1. Hum Paanch
Zee Tv shows had put films to shame during the 90s. The shows aired in that decade are bundles of joy and made families gather around the TV every evening to watch them.Before the era of saas-bahus, we, as 90s kids, have witnessed some great content and were lucky enough to get entertained by these amazing shows. These shows engaged us and made us think as opposed to offering mindless entertainment.
We cannot dive in the 90s era without talking about the one and only Hum Paanch. This show has ruled our hearts for ages. A nagging wife, five dysfunctional daughters, and a talking portrait of a dead wife – do you really need anything else to add to the comedy? Without a doubt, Hum Paanch was one of the funniest sitcoms we ever saw.
Hasratein was based on a Marathi novel, Adhantari. This show was quite bold for the 90’s. This show talks about an extramarital affair from the perspective of a woman. This show was directed sincerely without leaving out any controversial matters. This show indeed tried its best to make its audiences think about the ins and outs of marital problems throughout its run.
4. Khana Khazana
Oh Lord, we cannot get over Khana Khazana! This show had made cooking interesting for everyone. Sanjeev Kapoor’s dishes broke all the stereotypes about men not being in the kitchen. The show has inspired many cookery shows after it ended and has cemented Sanjeev Kapoor’s place in the culinary world.
5. Banegi Apni Baat
Banegi Apni Baat was based on college life and the problems of the youth. The show had something for everyone. It dealt with problems of drugs, romance, bad company, etc. It ran from 1993 to 1997, and was a footing for some of today’s biggest television and movie stars, like Irrfan Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sandhya Mridul.
