Karan Wahi hosted two Indian cricket stars, Yuzvendra Chahal and Virender Sehwag, this weekend on ‘Game On‘. He spoke of Yuzvendra Chahal about his struggles about coming up as a cricketer and making it in the Indian team. On the other hand, he had a chat with Virender Sehwag about his life after cricket retirement and old dressing room incidents. Karan Wahi also asked them about their unique nicknames in the dressing room.

Karan Wahi reveals that Yuzvendra Chahal’s name in the dressing room is ‘Tilli‘ (matchstick). Karan asks if Chahal got that name because he likes to cause mischief and run away from trouble or lean body structure. Chahal light-heartedly admits that he does both those things so he doesn’t know why he got the name. He added that the name was given to him by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
He reveals that Dhoni liked to give nicknames to all the bowlers to speak to them from behind the stumps while bowling. Dhoni kept calling Yuzvendra as ‘Tilli’ and people heard this through the stump mic. Yuzvendra reveals that now random people giving him advice about his bowling also call him ‘Tilli‘.
Catch a glimpse of Yuzvendra Chahal’s banter with Karan Wahi.
Virender Sehwag has been given the title of Nawab of Najafgarh and Sultan of Multan. He reveals that in the team he got the nickname ‘Laala‘. Much like Chahal, Sehwag is also unsure why he got the name which is also given to Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar. Sehwag does mention that they call a fat man ‘Laala‘ in his hometown. He adds that when he entered the team he was a Laala so the name definitely fits him.
